Oakleigh Recreation Centre Pool Closure

We have engaged contractors to further investigate the issues impacting the operation of the 50m pool at the Oakleigh Recreation Centre.
It appears that significant works will be required to restore pool plant to full operation.
We have made the difficult decision to close the facilities and we will not be in a position to reopen until November 2024 for the 24/25 Summer Season.
We apologise for any inconvenience this has caused and thank you for your understanding. We will be working through options for impacted customers and will provide further information as soon as possible.

Monash Aquatic & Recreation Centre’s 50m Pool Painting Update - Monday 3 June
We are excited to announce that the MARC 50m Pool will be re-open as of Tuesday 4 June. We thank you for your patience and support while the pool underwent maintenance works.
We hope to see you enjoying the pool!
Please note, the pool will operate in line with winter hours.
Monash Aquatic & Recreation Centre’s 50m Pool Painting Update - Tuesday 28 May
The filling of the 50m pool has been completed and heating and treatment of the water is currently under way. As part of the works official water testing will be completed to ensure compliance with public health and safety regulations. Water samples are booked to be collected on Friday 31 May. We expect to have the results of water testing by Wednesday 5 June. Successful water quality tests are required prior to reopening the pool.
We appreciate that the unexpected closure of the advertised alternative 50m pool at Oakleigh Recreation Centre is a significant inconvenience to some members. We will continue to explore opportunities to reopen the MARC 50m pool earlier than advertised and will calculate appropriate compensation for impacted members in due course. For multi-visit holders we will consider an extension to the expiry date of your pass to enable to utilise any remaining passes

SWIMMING LESSONS
Due to the closure of the Oakleigh 50m pool swimming lessons that were scheduled to occur there will unfortunately be cancelled.
Lessons will resume at the Monash Aquatic & Recreation Centre at the conclusion of the current pool painting project with the expected date to reopen on Sunday 7 July 2024. Any credit for lessons that have been paid will be applied to future direct debits.
