New Gym Equipment and Flooring Works - MARC

Published on 31 October 2025

Our strength and cardio equipment is being upgraded at all of our 3 gym facilities, including Reformer beds and group fitness equipment (where applicable). This means fresh, new equipment is coming in and our old equipment is being replaced! Clayton Aquatics & Health Club and Monash Aquatic & Recreation Centre's gyms will also undergo new flooring works!

During the upgrade period, the gyms will be closed while extraction and installation take place.

Works will be staggered at each facility to minimise impact with Monash Aquatic & Recreation Centre being the last centre to undergo works. Please note, we encourage all Members visiting the centre to enter via the front entrance (reception) throughout the duration of works.

Due to the stairs and volume of equipment the installers have requested additional time on the proposed day of reopen to complete final testing and configuration of the new equipment. The gym is now scheduled to reopen from 2pm on Thursday, 6 November.

Monash Aquatic & Recreation Centre timeline:

Works CLOSED RE-OPEN
Gym equipment removal starts Thursday 23 October
Flooring work starts Saturday 25 October

Below are some other options for you to consider during this period:

  2. Try our different services – Try out some of our many Group Fitness classes or Aquatic services during this time. With a range of classes including Cycle, BodyPump and Reformer Pilates, we have something for everyone.
  3. Suspend your membership – For convenience, you can now self-administer a suspension request through My Account. Alternatively, please fill out our online form if you would like to suspend your membership during this period.
