IDAHOBIT Celebration

As part of our ongoing commitment to inclusion in our facilities and programs, we will be acknowledging the international awareness day of IDAHOBIT (International Day Against LGBTIQA+ Discrimination) on Wednesday 17 May. 

We'll be turning our facilities rainbow and running themed Group Fitness classes!

IDAHOBIT

On 17 May 1990, the World Health Organisation removed homosexuality from the Classification of Diseases. Studies have shown that 42% of LGBTIQA+ people hide their sexuality or gender identity at social and community events. As a result, leisure and recreation facilities are uncommonly safe for the LGBTIQA+ community. Through celebrating this day, we are committing to our vision, 'Participate Your Way' and our aim to create accessible and inclusive services. 

Active Monash is a place where inclusion and diversity is welcomed and respected. We invite all members and patrons of the Active Monash community to join in on the celebrations for IDAHOBIT.
