As a part of our ongoing commitment to inclusion in our facilities and programs, we are celebrating LGBTQIA+SB young people within City of Monash through incentre acknowledgement and celebration including purple-themed group fitness classes on Friday 28 August.
Wear It Purple was founded in 2010 with the belief that every young person deserves to feel safe and included. We're partaking in Wear It Purple Day to help spread awareness and opportunities to educate our community about fostering a supporting and inclusive environment.
This year's theme, 'Colours of Courage', celebrates the different forms of courage shown by LGBTQIA+SB people, allies and communities. The colours represent diversity of identities and stories, recognising that bravery looks different for everyone whether it's creating change or asking for support. At Active Monash, we encourage our community to live proudly every day and to choose understanding and acceptance.
