From Monday 1 April, Monash Aquatic & Recreation Centre's 50m Pool will undergo painting works. Due to these works, the pool will be closed until Friday 7 June (inclusive).
Oakleigh Recreation Centre (ORC) 50m Pool and Multi-Purpose Pool extended operating hours (other pools at Oakleigh Recreation Centre will close at end of business Sunday 31 March).
ORC's 50m Pool was scheduled to remain open from Monday 1 April - Friday 7 June. Unfortunately, due to an unexpected and significant plant room issue the ORC 50m was closed on Monday 20 May. We are now working on completing the works on the 50m pool at the Monash Aquatic & Recreation Centre and exploring all options to get the pool open earlier than advertised.
UPDATE - Tuesday 29 May 2024
The filling of the 50m pool has been completed and heating and treatment of the water is currently under way. As part of the works official water testing will be completed to ensure compliance with public health and safety regulations. Water samples are booked to be collected on Friday 31 May. We expect to have the results of water testing by Wednesday 5 June. Successful water quality tests are
required prior to reopening the pool.
We appreciate that the unexpected closure of the advertised alternative 50m pool at Oakleigh Recreation Centre is a significant inconvenience to some members. We will continue to explore opportunities to reopen the MARC 50m pool earlier than advertised and will calculate appropriate compensation for impacted members in due course. For multi-visit holders we will consider an extension to the expiry date of your pass to enable to utilise any remaining passes.

LATEST UPDATE - Monday 3 June 2024
We are excited to announce that the MARC 50m Pool will be re-open as of Tuesday 4 June. We thank you for your patience and support while the pool underwent maintenance works.
We hope to see you enjoying the pool!
Please note, the pool will operate in line with winter hours.
MARC Aquatics Members who would prefer to suspend their memberships for the duration of the works should fill in a suspension request via the Manage My Membership webform. Alternatively, please indicate your intention to suspend via email at activemonash@monash.vic.gov.au

MARC Aquatics Members have access to ORC's 50m pool during the maintenance period. Due to the unexpected closure of the ORC pool on Monday 20 May we will continue to explore opportunities to reopen the MARC 50m pool earlier than advertised and will calculate appropriate compensation for impacted members in due course.

Monash Aquatic & Recreation Centre Aquatic MVPs
MARC Aquatic MVPs will have access to ORC's 50m pool during the maintenance period.
Due to the unexpected closure of the ORC pool on Monday 20 May we will continue to explore opportunities to reopen the MARC 50m pool earlier than advertised. MVP holders impacted by the lack of availability of an outdoor pool will be able to request an extension of the expiry date of their pass once the MARC 50m reopens and we can calculate the number of days of no access.
Oakleigh Recreation Centre Aquatics Members
ORC Aquatics Memberships have been cancelled as of the usual end of season date: Sunday 31 March. Members who would prefer for their memberships to remain active during the extended period of operation are encouraged to reach out to our team via email.
Due to the unexpected closure of the ORC pool on Monday 20 May we have cancelled ORC Aquatics memberships to prevent any further payments and communicated to these members directly with relevant options.
Monash Aquatic & Recreation Centre Learn to Swim Members
MARC Learn to Swim Members will have access to ORC's 50m pool during the maintenance period.
Due to the unexpected closure of the ORC pool on Monday 20 May we have had to cancel some lessons that were moved from the MARC 50m pool. Impacted customers have received direct communication in relation to credit where applicable and the resumption of lessons when the MARC 50m can reopen. We will continue to explore opportunities to reopen the MARC 50m pool earlier than advertised and will calculate appropriate compensation for impacted members in due course.
